Michiana On Tap ("we", "us") publishes michianaontap.com, a local media site covering events, food, drink, music, sports and things to do around Michiana. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

What we collect

Information you give us. When you join our email list, enter a giveaway, submit an event, or contact us about advertising, you provide details such as your name, email address, phone number, ZIP code, birthdate or age confirmation, interests, and the content of your message or event.

Information collected automatically. Like most sites, we receive standard technical data when you visit: pages viewed, links clicked, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type, and referring site. We collect this through Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel using cookies and similar technologies.

Sponsor placements. When a sponsor message is shown or clicked, we record an anonymous count of impressions and clicks so we can report campaign performance. These counts are not tied to your identity.

How we use it

To send the newsletters and alerts you signed up for, and to run giveaways you entered.
To review and publish event submissions and respond to inquiries.
To understand how the site is used and improve it.
To measure and report sponsor placements.
To protect the site from abuse, including bot detection on our forms.

Who we share it with

Second Street (Upland Software) operates our email, text message and contest platform. When you join or enter, your information is stored there under their terms.
Station Calendar (Radio Playmaker) stores event submissions and advertiser inquiries so our editors can review them.
Google Analytics and Meta receive the technical data described above under their own privacy policies.
Cloudflare Turnstile checks that form submissions come from people, not bots.
Sponsors receive aggregate performance reports only. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not give sponsors your contact details unless you knowingly provide them as part of a giveaway that says so in its rules.

Email and text messages

You can unsubscribe from email at any time using the link in any message. Text alerts are a separate opt-in; reply STOP to end them. Message and data rates may apply.

Cookies and analytics choices

You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings. Google offers an opt-out browser add-on for Google Analytics, and Meta provides ad controls in your Facebook settings.

Children

The site is intended for adults and for families planning activities. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Some giveaways require entrants to be 18 or 21 or older.

You can ask us to correct or delete the information you have given us by emailing hello@michianaontap.com. We will respond within a reasonable time. If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
