What’s happening
Explore how the American Revolution's legacy shaped Michiana through settlement and homesteading.
The sounds of the American Revolution were never heard in Michiana, but the legacy of that struggle reached our region in a remarkable way. After helping forge a new nation, settlers brought revolutionary ideals and experiences to the frontier, transforming the landscape and communities of northern Indiana. This presentation examines the connection between the birth of American independence and the subsequent wave of homesteading that built our region. Discover how the post-Revolutionary generation shaped Michiana's history, culture, and development.
